3D Printing Services for St Helens

Roughly nine miles, and a town that knows about making things.

St Helens spent a century and a half making something notoriously difficult to make well, so we are not going to patronise the place about manufacturing. What we offer is the small end of it: the single component, the short run, the part that used to come from a supplier who no longer exists.

What we print for St Helens

Glass built the town and the industrial base outlasted it — today St Helens runs on manufacturing, packaging, distribution and a dense layer of engineering firms serving them. Sites like Ravenhead and the estates around the town centre are full of operations that need occasional bespoke plastic parts and have nowhere sensible to get them made in ones and twos.

Everything is printed at our workshop in Wigan, roughly 9 miles away, and sent out by courier. Delivery cost and timing are confirmed with your quote rather than assumed, because it depends on the size and fragility of the finished item.

3D printing in St Helens — your questions

Our supplier discontinued a part. Can you copy it?

If it is a plastic component and you can get us the broken original or good photographs with measurements, usually yes. We model a replacement from what you send. We do not 3D scan, so we do need dimensions from you rather than working from pictures alone.

Can you make parts that go outside?

Yes — that is what ASA is for. It is UV-stable and weather-resistant, so it holds up outdoors where PLA would go brittle and discolour within a season. Tell us the part lives outside and we will specify accordingly.

Do you take on work for maintenance and facilities teams?

Regularly. Brackets, covers, clips, spacers, dispenser parts and fixings for equipment nobody supports any more are all straightforward. Send photos of what failed and we will tell you whether we can remake it.
