Production printing is a different discipline from printing one good part. It is about the five hundredth one coming out the same as the first: the same tolerances, the same colour, the same finish, on the day you were told it would. We quote runs against your actual deadline rather than a best case, and we would rather tell you a date we can hold than the date you want to hear.

- Your file, and confirmation the design is final
- Quantity — and whether it is one batch or a repeating order
- The material, or what the part has to survive if you are unsure
- Your deadline, including whether it is fixed or flexible
Materials for this work
PLA
Display pieces, models and indoor parts where crisp detail and colour matter more than heat resistance.
PETG
The general-purpose workhorse — tougher than PLA, handles moisture and moderate heat, good for functional parts.
ASA
Outdoor and vehicle parts. UV-stable and weather-resistant, so it will not go brittle or fade in sunlight.
TPU
Flexible parts — gaskets, bumpers, grips, protective sleeves and anything that needs to bend or absorb impact.
Batch & Production Runs — questions we get asked
How many units can you produce?
Capacity depends on part size — hundreds of small parts a week, fewer as parts get larger. Send us the part and your deadline and we will confirm what is achievable before you commit.
Do you charge less per unit at higher quantities?
Yes. Setup, file prep and the first-article check are one-off costs whatever the quantity, so they spread thinner across a bigger run. Tell us the quantity you are actually considering and we will price it — including the quantity either side, if a step up would save you meaningfully.
Will every part in the batch be identical?
They are printed to the same file, on the same settings, in the same material batch wherever possible. We print a first article and check it before committing the rest of the run, so a problem gets caught on part one rather than part four hundred.
Can I change the design between batches?
Yes — and that is one of the real advantages of printing over moulding. There is no tooling to scrap, so a revision costs a new file and a fresh first article rather than five figures and a lead time.
Do you hold stock for repeat orders?
We can agree a repeat arrangement where we print to an agreed schedule rather than you re-ordering each time. Talk to us about the volume and cadence you need and we will tell you honestly whether we can commit to it.
