3D Printing Bureau Serving Lancashire
Wigan was part of Lancashire until 1974, and the county boundary is still only a few miles from our workshop. HSK 3D LTD runs an FDM 3D printing bureau in Wigan serving Lancashire, from Skelmersdale and Chorley just up the road to Preston, Blackburn, Burnley, Blackpool and Lancaster further north.
Lancashire work that suits FDM printing
Lancashire has a long manufacturing tradition and a large engineering supply chain, from aerospace and automotive suppliers to plastics, packaging and food producers. A great deal of that work needs parts in small numbers: a fixture to hold a component during assembly, a guard for a machine that never came with one, a housing for a sensor, a run of replacement knobs. That is where a print bureau earns its keep, because there is no mould to pay for.
How working with us works
There is no account to set up and no minimum spend. A Lancashire job runs like this:
Send your file
Upload an STL, STEP or 3MF file through the quote form, with the quantity, material and colours you want.
Get a quote
We check the design will print well and send a price, including delivery. Nothing is printed until you agree.
We print it
Your parts are printed in FDM in our Wigan workshop, from the files you approved.
Post-processing
Supports are removed and each part is cleaned up and checked before it is packed.
Delivery
Finished parts go out by courier to your address.
Why use a bureau rather than buy a printer
Working with a print bureau means paying only for the parts you need. You send a design, we quote, print and finish it, and the parts come back to you; the printers, filament and know-how stay our problem. For a Lancashire firm without its own printing kit — or with a single desktop printer that cannot handle bigger or tougher jobs — that is usually simpler than buying in.
Capabilities at a glance
At a glance, this is what a Lancashire customer can order from us:
- Process
- FDM (fused deposition modelling)
- Materials
- PLA — Display pieces, models and indoor parts where crisp detail and colour matter more than heat resistance.
- PETG — The general-purpose workhorse — tougher than PLA, handles moisture and moderate heat, good for functional parts.
- ASA — Outdoor and vehicle parts. UV-stable and weather-resistant, so it will not go brittle or fade in sunlight.
- TPU — Flexible parts — gaskets, bumpers, grips, protective sleeves and anything that needs to bend or absorb impact.
- Max build size
- 420 × 420 × 500 mm — large parts in a single piece
- Colours
- Up to 8 colours in a single part
- File formats
- STL, STEP and 3MF
- Job types
- One-off prototypes and repeat production runs
- Turnaround
- 3–5 working days for standard jobs. Lead times for bulk jobs are quoted on request.
Turnaround and delivery to Lancashire
Standard jobs have a 3–5 working days turnaround. Delivery anywhere in the county is by courier, with the cost confirmed in your quote rather than added later. For larger batches — a few hundred brackets, say, or a full set of fixtures for a new line — lead times for bulk jobs are quoted on request.
Lancashire print bureau FAQs
Do you cover the whole of Lancashire?
Yes, from the southern edge of the county near Wigan up to Lancaster and across to the Pennine towns. Everything is printed in Wigan and couriered to you, with delivery priced into the quote.
What material should I use for a part that lives outdoors?
ASA. It is UV-stable and weather-resistant, so it keeps its colour and strength outside where PLA would not. It suits signage, enclosures, vehicle parts and anything else that spends its life in the weather.
Can you print something bigger than your build volume?
Single pieces go up to 420 × 420 × 500 mm, which covers most jobs in one go. Larger items can be printed in sections and assembled, and we agree where the joins fall before printing.
How should I send my design?
Upload it through the quote form as an STL, STEP or 3MF file. If you only have a drawing or a sample part, describe it in the form and we will tell you what we need.
Send us a Lancashire job
A drawing, a model file or a broken part to copy — tell us what you have and we will quote it, delivered.
