3D Printing Bureau Serving Manchester

For Manchester businesses, HSK 3D LTD is a 3D printing bureau roughly eighteen miles away in Wigan. We print to order in FDM for design studios, engineers, researchers and makers across the city, and courier the finished parts to offices, studios and workshops from the city centre out to the suburbs.

Who uses a print bureau in Manchester

The city’s mix of product design consultancies, start-ups, agencies, university research groups and engineering firms produces steady demand for parts that do not justify tooling. Typical jobs from that kind of customer include:

  • Looks-like and works-like prototypes for a pitch or a round of user testing
  • Enclosures and mounts for electronics, sensors and test rigs
  • Display pieces, signage and props for events, retail and exhibitions, often in several colours
  • Short runs of a finished part ahead of, or instead of, injection moulding

Capabilities at a glance

If you are briefing a Manchester project, these are the limits to design within:

Process
FDM (fused deposition modelling)
Materials
  • PLA — Display pieces, models and indoor parts where crisp detail and colour matter more than heat resistance.
  • PETG — The general-purpose workhorse — tougher than PLA, handles moisture and moderate heat, good for functional parts.
  • ASA — Outdoor and vehicle parts. UV-stable and weather-resistant, so it will not go brittle or fade in sunlight.
  • TPU — Flexible parts — gaskets, bumpers, grips, protective sleeves and anything that needs to bend or absorb impact.
Max build size
420 × 420 × 500 mm — large parts in a single piece
Colours
Up to 8 colours in a single part
File formats
STL, STEP and 3MF
Job types
One-off prototypes and repeat production runs
Turnaround
3–5 working days for standard jobs. Lead times for bulk jobs are quoted on request.

Getting parts to Manchester

Finished parts are packed and sent to your Manchester address by courier, with the cost included in your quote. If a deadline is tight — a pitch, an event, a test session — give us the date when you ask for a quote, and we will tell you honestly whether it can be met before you commit.

How working with us works

If you have never used a print bureau before, the idea is simple — we provide the printing, you provide the design (or the problem):

  1. Send your file

Upload an STL, STEP or 3MF file through the quote form, with the quantity, material and colours you want.

  2. Get a quote

We check the design will print well and send a price, including delivery. Nothing is printed until you agree.

  3. We print it

Your parts are printed in FDM in our Wigan workshop, from the files you approved.

  4. Post-processing

Supports are removed and each part is cleaned up and checked before it is packed.

  5. Delivery

Finished parts go out by courier to your address.

Manchester print bureau FAQs

Can you deliver to Manchester city centre?

Yes. Parts are couriered to any Manchester address, including city-centre offices and studios. The delivery cost is confirmed in your quote.

We need a prototype now and a production batch later. Can you do both?

Yes, and that is the most common pattern. We print the prototype, you test it and send back any changes, and the production batch is printed from the final approved files. Lead times for bulk jobs are quoted on request.

Do you take work from university research groups?

Yes. Research jobs are often one-offs with unusual geometry, which FDM printing handles well. If your department buys on purchase orders, say so in your enquiry and we will work to it.

What should our designer export for you?

A STEP file if there is any chance of changes, since it preserves the exact geometry. Otherwise an STL or a 3MF — 3MF is handy for multi-colour parts because it can hold the colour assignments.
